The Trump administration recently revoked the Temporary Protected Status for hundreds of thousands of Haitians, removing their right to live and work in the United States. Haiti is plagued by violence and lawlessness with staggering levels of poverty, and Trump’s own State Department advises Americans must not visit Haiti. Retired Lieutenant General Russel Honoré is well known to many Americans for his leadership after of Hurricane Katrina, as well as managing international relief operations in the Caribbean. He's an expert on disaster preparedness and has advised Haitian organizations, and he joins from Baton Rouge.
