In 1954 After Korea- America decided to fight a war they did not know how to fight- it was a jungle war between North and South Vietnam. The draft was active. Young men had little choice but to either volunteer, head off to college, flee to Canada or be drafted. It was a war America was never going to win. It was never delcared a war it was always a police conflict. First Advisors were sent in- then the military- . It was a politicans war from the onset. America had just finished fighting in Korea - Vietnam looked promising. Siagon began to fall- in 1973 America finally admitted defeat and started pulling out.
