Ed Coper is one of the world's leading experts in digital politics. He has helped build movements and worked with progressive campaigns around the world, as well as a couple of Nobel Peace Prize winners. He's the cofounder and CEO of Populares, the values-based marketing agency and previously founded CoreLab in New York and helped build Get-Up from a startup into Australia's largest political organisation.
His previous book, Facts and Other Lies, explored the rise of disinformation, while his latest book, Angertainment: How Social Media Outrage Ruined Everything, picks up the thread to explore how our social feeds reward anger with attention, and what this is doing to our politics, businesses and lives. In this conversation we explore what's going on, how this impacts social enterprises and what we got wrong when we were both starting out as digital campaigners.
