Chris Carragher—professionally known as Chris Caggs—is a  49 year‑old Australian Radio DJ, Music Programmer, and Podcaster with nearly 30 years in the Australian radio industry. His flagship program, ShakeDown Radio, is a national staple of EDM, Dance, House, Hip Hop, and RnB, reaching audiences across FM, digital, and online platforms. With a career spanning 16 permanent radio stations and 200+ syndicated Community Radio Network (ComRad Satellite) outlets, Chris has become one of the most recognisable voices in Australian dance and urban broadcasting.

Chris launched his radio journey in July 1998 on Pump FM 99.3FM Sydney, Australia’s first Hip Hop & RnB community station. Co‑hosting with Mista‑C, he helped define Sydney’s emerging urban sound. Pump FM later evolved into Dance Radio 99.3FM and Dance FM 94.5FM, where Chris continued championing new dance and urban culture.

Later in 1998, Chris joined DJ‑FM 87.6FM, a 24/7 dance station covering Sydney’s CBD and Inner City. Operated by Roberts Media Group, DJ‑FM featured leading DJs including Frank Chiment, Antonio Avati, Joe Avati, Susie Stapleton, Dave Einfield, Andre Waitsman, Joe Corte, and Rob Brizzi, supported by major sponsors such as Central Station Records, Telstra, Carlton & United Breweries, Noizenet, Pulse Music, and SBA Music.

From 1999 to 2001, Chris became a key voice on Groove FM 96.9 & 94.5 Sydney, hosting breakfast and weekends while interviewing major Australian media personalities including Andrew G, Bessie Bardot, Rene Rivkin, DJ Nino Brown, Georgina Reed, Sam Boutros, Natasha Zuvela, Yvette Duncan, and Zoe Naylor.

In August–September 2000, he helped launch Groove FM 97.3 Brisbane, hosting breakfast and contributing to music programming alongside Fez Lateef, Adrian Day, Dustin & Anna, Patrick Donohue, Scott Ferris, DJ Kina, and Kristian Hernandez.

A standout moment came during Easter 2002, when Chris supported Added Flava’s promotions for Urban Authority, helping run Glo at Minc Lounge and Seventh Day at Hunter Bar—events that shaped Sydney’s early‑2000s urban nightlife.

Across 1996–2006, Chris also broadcast on 2RDJ 88.1FM, working with MC Maurice, DJ Alex K, DJ Fly Girl Tee, Ms Hennessey, Lorraine Alex, and more. He later hosted Thursday Flavours and filled in for Soulscope on 2NSB FM 99.3.

Today, Chris continues to expand ShakeDown Radio’s global reach, blending decades of experience with a modern, high‑energy sound that resonates with listeners across Australia and beyond.
