The theories of cognitive development, including Piaget and Vygotsky

This podcast is split into two parts. The first is an introduction to cognitive development, focusing on Piagetian theory as well as a brief overview of Vygotsky's theory. This part also includes the opportunity to pause the video and have a discussion about how Piaget's theory may have influenced teaching in schools. The second part gives an overview of children's memory development, and introduces some of the research on metamemory being conducted at Leeds University.
