Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Jazz Baritone Saxophonist  Brian Landrus on the 2024 Album Plays Ellington & Strayhorn .. This is another return for Brian to Neon Jazz to talk about an album that highlights the baritone saxophone and features Duke Ellington’s music was more than enough to pique my curiosity. It’s a warm, lush album that exceeds exceptions. The arrangements not only transport us back to the era of their creation through their rhythm but also play between the lines with the codes. We explore how he survived COVID, how he decided to create this album, upcoming live show sand so much more. Dig this interview.
