Some 11,000 years ago, seafaring people from the Near East landed their boats on the island of Cyprus. In the exhibit Crossroads of Civilizations, the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History showcases antiquities ranging from the earliest villages to masterpieces of medieval religious art, and presenting an overview of the unique culture of Cyprus.

Exhibit Curator and archaeologist, Dr. Sophocles Hadjisavvas, gives an overview of the exhibit and explains the importance of its artifacts, while Smithsonian Senior Painting Conservator, Jia-Sun Tsang, explores the challenges of exhibit conservation.
