Peter Safran has officially confirmed that the upcoming DC Universe horror film Swamp Thing is actively moving forward under the direction of James Mangold. Although the project experienced delays because the filmmaker was busy producing a Bob Dylan biopic, studio executives are currently waiting for him to deliver his completed screenplay. The movie will explore the complex plant-based creature who absorbs the memories and sorrow of scientist Alec Holland, bringing a unique and terrifying perspective to the franchise. While an official release date has not yet been announced, this major production update provides eager fans with a reassuring sign of progress.
