Frank White | Author of The Overview Effect and Space Philosopher
What if we stopped seeing ourselves as passengers—and remembered that we are all crew members of Spaceship Earth?
Frank White coined the term “the Overview Effect” to describe the profound shift in awareness astronauts often experience when they see Earth from space: one interconnected living system without visible borders or boundaries.
In this episode, interviewed by Yasmine El Baggari, Frank shares the moment that inspired his groundbreaking work, what he learned from interviewing astronauts, and why it took decades for his vision to reach a worldwide audience.
Together, they explore purpose, persistence, borders, environmental responsibility, space travel, and the expanded perspective humanity may need to address our greatest challenges. Frank also shares the movement to send him to space—and why living your purpose may inspire others to discover their own.
We are not passengers on this planet. We are crew members—and every crew member has a role.
