Hello and welcome to the Brand Seasons podcast with me, designer, mentor, and writer, Sarah Robertson.
~
Before sharing this latest conversation, I'd first like to mention my Kickstarter campaign, which launched on Monday 23rd September. The Brand Seasons Playdeck is a pocket-sized card deck with prompts and practices to guide you through the branding process. You can also enjoy This Creative Life - A Brand Seasons Paper, which celebrates all things creativity and seasonality, and features a range of interviews and articles to support and inspire. I would be so grateful if you could back the Playdeck and help to bring this project to life!

Today, I’m delighted to be joined by Sara Duigou, a Somatic Coach and Embodiment Practitioner, for a conversation about the Season of Grounding. Together, we consider the role of rest in creative renewal, and Sara explains the seven types of rest, and offers insights into the power of honouring our natural rhythms in both life and work.
We focus on:
- The seven types of rest: Physical, Mental, Social, Spiritual, Sensory, Emotional, and Creative
- The significance of finding your unique rhythm, rather than striving for balance
- How somatics can help you reconnect with your body’s natural healing processes
- Embracing life’s ebbs and flows and finding buoyancy during challenging times
- Navigating emotional labour and setting boundaries
- The role of rest in building a sustainable business
You can find Sara on Instagram and Substack, learn more about her work in embodiment and somatics on her website.
Thanks for listening, and remember to subscribe so you never miss an episode. You can also visit Brand Seasons to find bonus content from guests along with articles on strategy, styling and storytelling.
Feel free to connect with me on Instagram, Pinterest and Substack, and share this episode with those who are curious about all things creativity and seasonality. You can learn more about my branding and design studio by visiting my website: These Are The Days.
If you enjoyed tuning in, leaving a review on Apple Podcasts or a rating on Spotify would mean a lot, and help others find their way here, too.

This season of the podcast is sponsored by Saorsa Psychology.
In Gaelic, Saorsa means 'freedom'—serving as a beacon for those eager to amplify their impact in the world, in a grounded and gentle way.
Freedom lies in being bold, and if you’re looking for deeper meaning, you can carve your own path with a combination of coaching and psychology, where you'll be guided through the wood, the trees and the spaces in between.
