🎙️ INTERVIEW | Addressing Mind-Body Disconnection through Somatic Therapy with Jeff Krone

In this episode, my guest is Jeff Krone, a somatic psychotherapist and he shares his personal journey starting with his first experience with holotropic breathwork, discovering the importance of the mind-body connection, and how that led him to practice and teach somatic psychotherapy.

Somatic psychotherapy focuses on the mind-body connection and the role of the nervous system in healing. It involves techniques such as somatic experiencing, craniosacral therapy, and Rosen method bodywork. Chronic pain can be addressed by diving into the pain and exploring its underlying causes beyond the physical.

Jeff discusses the concept of interoception, which is the link between emotions and how the body feels, and how somatic psychotherapy can help improve interoceptive awareness. He also explores the impact of mind-body disconnection on mental health and chronic pain, as well as the role of somatic therapy in addressing these issues.

We also discuss other methods to enhance the mind-body connection including psychedelics, meditation, breathwork, and authentic movement.
