Alessandro Cagliostro, focusing on his creation of High Egyptian
Freemasonry. Cagliostro, a figure shrouded in mystery and controversy,
claimed esoteric knowledge and noble origins, quickly gaining notoriety
across Europe as a healer and Freemason.
We explore Cagliostro's introduction of the Egyptian Rite in Naples in
1777, which marked a significant departure from traditional Freemasonry
by integrating mystical practices and the concept of spiritual and moral
transformation. His rites catered to both men and women, incorporating
beliefs in theism and the immortality of the soul, and outlined a path
for redemption through spiritual, intellectual, and physical
restoration.
We also cover the specifics of Cagliostro’s Masonic rituals, which were
designed to elevate practitioners through a series of stages: from
spiritual reawakening and intellectual renewal, emphasizing alchemy and
theurgy, to achieving a divine connection. These stages culminated in
