I have always wanted to do a podcast episode that would bring to you the male perspective of infertility - and finally, I have that episode for you. It was honestly quite hard to find a man who was willing to openly speak about their experiences.
My guest today, Andy Lamb, is amazing, not just because he is so open to talk about his experiences, but he also provides support to other men who are dealing with fertility issues. Yes - a fertility support group for men. I’ll put the link in the show notes of course if you’d like to send someone his way!
Andy Lamb is a 45 years old male and long-time resident of Easton, MA with his wife Kelly and his 3 girls that he adopted through foster care. His fertility journey started in 2009 when he was diagnosed with azoospermia, zero sperm, which was followed up with 2 surgeries that were unsuccessful. Together, they got through the toughest part of dealing with the emotional toll and now we have a wonderful, multicultural family. Andy and Kelly founded a non-profit called Raising Multicultural Kids that brings a diverse curriculum into classrooms K-12 as well as trainings for teachers and community events. Andy is a Senior Director of Sales and Partnerships for MaxCyte, a Cell and Gene Therapy Engineering Platform company.
I hope you love this episode and that it brings insight into some of the things your male partners might be going through and not expressing.
