This summer, we have been taking some time to reflect on the Psalms each week. We've carefully selected eight Psalms, and today we're focusing on Psalm 77.

If you haven't done so already, I encourage you to read through Psalm 77. The raw emotion and sincerity of the words are both comforting and humbling.

There's a beautiful vulnerability in admitting our struggles and sorrows openly before God. Just last week, I found myself in a Psalm 77 moment, overwhelmed with grief. Everything felt like a 10 out of 10 in intensity, and I could hear God inviting me to weep and grieve fully. In those moments, I didn’t give any disclaimers; I just let my guard down and poured out every emotion before Him.

God, in His kindness, gently reminded me to recount what's true. This aligns so perfectly with our theme today – the great exchange. The idea is that we bring our pain to God, and He, in turn, transforms it. This mirrors the meaning of baptism: going into the water one way and emerging renewed. We must not skip this process. Acknowledging our pain is essential; only then can true healing begin!
