Professor Thomas Seyfried is a professor of biology, genetics, and biochemistry at Boston College. He received a PhD in 1976 in genetics and neurochemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, followed by a postdoctoral degree from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, in the field of neurochemistry and genetics.
His field of interest is gene-environmental interactions in epilepsy and brain cancer. Dr. Seyfried's lab at Boston College focuses on studying dietary therapies for epilepsy, brain cancer, and neurodegenerative lipid storage diseases.
