My guest this week is Adam Tooze, an historian at Columbia University in New York, and one of today’s leading thinkers on economic history. He has written books on the economy of Nazi Germany, the financial crisis, and his latest work Shutdown deals with the economic chaos unleashed by the pandemic.
We talk about differences in handling the crisis, if neoliberalism can finally be proncounced dead and if that is something to celebrate or not, his climate militancy debates with Andreas Malm, and even some trotskyism and… wine tasting.
