Producer Darren Lighty, formerly of The Flex, is renowned for R&B hits with Ruff Endz, Jaheim, Donell Jones, Guy, Zhanè, NEXT, and LL Cool J. Initially part of The Flex with his brother Cliff Lighty and Eric Williams, he was discovered by Marley Marl. They lent vocals to tracks for LL Cool J, Heavy D. & the Boyz, Craig G, and Intelligent Hoodlum.
Darren and Cliff pursued songwriting and session work post-disbandment, while Eric joined Blackstreet. Collaborating with Eddie F. and Kay Gee, Lighty's extensive portfolio includes Aaliyah, Luther Vandross, Queen Latifah, Nas, and Mario, among others.
