In 1968, a doctor warned Paul his heart valve might fail in 15 years, though surgery wasn't yet possible. Sixteen years later, struggling to breathe and run, Paul's concerns were dismissed by a military doctor. Months later, he drove himself to the ER, where congestive heart failure and a dangerously enlarged heart were diagnosed.Admitted to a civilian hospital, Paul awaited military approval for valve replacement but was transferred to Texas for repeated tests. During an angiogram involving a stress test, his heart stopped. Paul described a near-death experience (NDE) of profound peace and unconditional love in a timeless, grey void. Drawn back to life after 20 minutes, he faced physical pain, PTSD, and depression.With therapy and family support, Paul healed and found strength in his journey, emerging with a renewed determination to live.
