In addition to being an incredibly talented and world renowned tattoo artist, Damien is also the guitar player of Philadelphia Hardcore legends Punishment. His story is nothing short of inspirational - coming from very humble beginnings, always staying hungry, continually pushing forward and overcoming massive obstacles, Damien is the definition of self made man. We initially met each other back in early 2001, when Damien was still touring with Punishment. It’s no secret that the Bay Area has always had a strong connection with the Philadelphia Hardcore scene and it was a real pleasure to be able catch up with an old friend. I can attest that his kind nature, humble demeanor and positive attitude still remain deeply intact all these years later... Over the course of the conversation we talked about growing up, finding art, getting into music, skating at Love Park, discovering Hardcore, touring the country with Punishment, being homeless, starting his tattoo apprenticeship, Grime influencing his work, collaborating with ASICS, his artistic evolution, family life and much more… Thanks for listening, enjoy the episode and remember to follow us on Instagram.
