David Hendley, a former corporate executive and professional American football player, joins me to talk about his landscape photography.
From professional athlete, to corporate executive, to landscape and nature photographer, David continues to enjoy the many chapters of his life. As far back as he can remember, David has always had a passion for the outdoors and nature. Today, he uses this passion to create images of our natural world. In a soft and silent way, David looks to bring to life the hidden beauty of landscapes and nature often found in minimalistic settings.
He discusses his initial inspiration, self-teaching journey, and the emotional connection that drives his work. They highlight his love for minimalistic desert landscapes and his experiences capturing seascapes in California. David emphasizes the importance of emotional ties to a scene, his approach to composition, and his disdain for extensive photo editing. They also explore the environmental impact of increasing foot traffic in natural areas and the importance of photography in educating about nature and climate issues.
I hope you enjoy the show!
