In This Episode We Discuss:
How their journey to Girls Mentorship began
Wanting to give the next generation a greater skill set at a younger age
Jill transition from self sabotage to self reflection and growth
Watching history repeat itself made Mary take a long hard look at where she wanted her life to be
Bringing awareness and knowledge to parents for healthy growth
Social media is here to stay, Pandora’s box has been open so we need to learn how to manage it
When is a good time to give your kids access to social media? When you’re ready for them to watch porn.
It’s ok to give your child a phone that is just a phone, with no internet
If your kid is on a platform, you should be on it first to understand it so you can guide them
Sextortion is very real, so the conversations need to be real, creating safe space not shame or guilt
Giving your child a phone is a shared responsibility, it is your property that you have every right to look through and see who has access to your child through that device
We’re raising adults we need to bring honest conversations to establish strong foundations
Be mindful of your own phone usage, your kids are watching
They’ve expanded to online classes for a greater reach to help educate and give skills to more teens and parents
