On this week's episode of True Crime New England, come to Maine with Katie and Liz as they share the senseless murder of 14-year-old Theresa Duran. An animal lover, athlete, and all around good friend, Theresa dreamed of being a veterinary assistant and enjoyed going to school. In July of 1984, Theresa didn't come home from a weekend at a girlfriend's house, and her parents became extremely concerned. Around 35 days later, her decomposing body was found in Gorham, Maine. Theresa had been shot several times and was left to die. A few years later, Theresa's boyfriend at the time of her death, and his best buddy, were arrested for her murder. However, due to both lack of evidence and perjury, the teenagers were acquitted and Theresa's murder still remains unsolved to this day.
