This week we ask the acerbically funny Brodie Reed of the Dark Weeb podcast, “Is Tokusatsu The Greatest?” Godzilla, Ultraman, Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, etc.; these Japanese TV shows either came overdubbed or became the Voltrons and Power Rangers of our youth when they were adapted for American audiences. To this day many fans unabashedly love these tokusatsu shows with the same verve as many of our listeners do superhero stories. This one is a real education as Brodie breaks down the enduring appeal of these culturally specific gems of action film and television.
