Subhash Jain is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at The University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa, USA. He was born in India in a family that practiced Jainism and continued to do so after coming to the US in 1967.After retiring in 2003, he concentrated on studying Indian Philosophy, particularly the Jain karma doctrine, and received another Ph.D. degree in Jain ology from the University of Madras, Chennai, India.
