Today’s episode of the Quilter on Fire podcast is totally different – it’s about a short independent film – and you are gonna love it! THE QUILTERS follows the daily lives of several men, spending most of its screen time inside the sewing room in a Level 5 maximum security prison in a small Missouri town. As we follow several quilts from design to completion, audiences will come to know these men, witnessing their struggles, triumphs, and sense of pride as they create something beautiful in this windowless, sacred space, deep within the prison walls. Through this process and the relationships forged we witness the power of art to restore an individual's view of themselves and others. Today, I’ll have a chat with award-winning filmmaker Jenifer McShane!
THE QUILTERS is in consideration for an OSCAR nomination!
The film window is now closed to view it for the DOCNYC event as mentioned in the podcast but if you are going to H&H Americas in May it will be featured there.
IF you are thinking - "What!? but I want to watch this film!" go to @thequiltersdoc on Instagram or follow QuilteronFire on the socials so you'll see the announcement as to when it is available for you to watch. __________________________________________
