Club Room: Backstage sees Anja Schneider ditching the turntables in favour of a microphone as the lauded DJ, renowned talent scout and trailblazing label owner of Sous Music gets to grips with the opinions of industry heads as they discuss the most pressing issues effecting the electronic music right now.
This week Anja Schneider speaks to Alexandra Lindblad and Markus Nisch from Bookings United - a Berlin-based organisation that represents the interests of freelance music industry professions. Formed in the months following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic the group are comprised of booking agents, managers and touring companies, as well as the individual artists and performers whom they represent. Currently Bookings United represent around 2000 individuals across around 75 companies including 1000 artists. The aim of Bookings United is to represent their members interests within conversations with local and national government agencies as a way of mitigating the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the independent music business.
