Good leaders usually allow do so alongside or from behind.
John Scrivani knows this well and has been putting this principle into practice for over three decades of service in law enforcement and Emergency Management.
Director Scrivani's career started with the NYPD, and eventually landed with the New York City Medical Examiner's Office and later the NYC Office of Emergency Management.
He then worked for two different NYC Mayors, coordinating operations for the response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Super Storm Sandy, and other major incidents.
Scrivani then moved to leadership positions in the Virginia Department of Transportation and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management.
Today, he continues those duties as the Director of the Office of Safety, Security & Emergency Management Virginia Department of Transportation along with being a subject matter expert on the operational effectiveness of the Combating Terrorism Technical Support & Technical Support Working Group for the US Department of Defense.
