For almost as long as astronomers have been fascinated by the bright, shining points of light in the sky, they’ve also wondered about the space between them.  After all, smaller objects had been known to fall from the sky for thousands of years, made of metal of otherworldly strength and mysterious magnetic properties.  But where did these objects come from?
