But in 2017, Tim’s parents, Jim and Evelyn Piazza, faced the unthinkable when Tim died after being forced to consume a lethal quantity of alcohol during a fraternity hazing ritual called the Gauntlet. Jim and Evelyn took part in the new documentary “House of Horrors: Secrets of College Greek Life” (now streaming on A&E) and talked candidly with me about the lack of accountability on the part of the fraternity and the university, the legal battle they waged after Tim’s death, and the measures now put in place as a result of their waking nightmare.
