Deepak John is a first generation South African. He and his family journeyed from Kerala, India to South Africa in the late 1980's. They lived in townships until 1994 when apartheid finally ended. In this episode, we unpack how Deepak felt as a first generation South African and the social dichotomy he faced growing up in a community that was starkly different from the traditional Indian culture his parents hailed from.

In addition to his eclectic cultural upbringing, Deepak has a fascinating take on Christian theology and he shares it with us all in this episode. While his parents raised him with conservative and traditional Christian beliefs, Deepak's own experiences and curiosities led him to discover a different truth about Jesus, as well as a very new age interest in energy, health, and mindset.

Further, we discussed his higher education in actuarial science, his arranged marriage, and so much more. It was truly fascinating to learn more about Deepak and his views.

Have a listen. I hope you enjoy this episode!
