In Episode 70, we review the 8/21/2020 Welterweight championship between 8-division titlist Manny Pacquiao and bronze 2008 Olympian from Cuba Yordenis Ugas. Ugas would successfully defend his Super WBA title via unanimous decision. We break down the key factors in Ugas' victory as well as speculate on the fight indeed being Pacquaio's last career outing. The week prior, was the all-action fight between Vergil Ortiz Jr (18-0, 18 KOs) and Egidijus "Mean Machine" Kavaliauskas (22-2-1, 18 KOs). From the opening bell, Kavaliauskas made it a dog fight against Vergil, who almost scored an official knockdown in the 2nd Round. Ortiz Jr would eventually steer the momentum away from Mean Machine, scoring 5 knockdowns, 4 of which came in the deciding 8th round leading to the TKO victory. We discuss Ortiz's comeback win against Kavaliauskas.
