Pema Chodron says, “Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It's a relationship between equals. Only when we know our own darkness well can we be present with the darkness of others. Compassion becomes real when we recognize our shared humanity.”
Today on the podcast, I share with you my thoughts on compassion, why it's important, and the ways in which I feel we need to see one other in order to heal the divide in our society. I do not bring this forth to be political, but rather to remind us all that when we suffer, we suffer the same. In our essential humanity we are so similar, that I believe it steals from us to perceive one another as so different. Just my 2 cents, but the topic was heavy on my heart this week.
