Explanation of al-Mandhūmah al-Ḥāʾiyyah of Imām Abū Bakr ibn Abī Dāwūd as-Sijistānī (raḥimahullāh), taught by Ustādh Abdul Hakeem Mitchell (hafidhahullāh)

• "Hold fast to the rope of Allāh": the rope is the Qurʾān and the Sunnah, and the prohibition of splitting • The ḥadīth of al-ʿIrbāḍ: "Upon you is my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided caliphs… bite onto it with the molar teeth" • Beneficial knowledge is knowledge that is acted upon; the guidance of direction and the guidance of acceptance • "Do not be an innovator": whoever introduces an innovation and deems it good claims the Messenger ﷺ betrayed the message • Making the Book of Allāh and the Sunnah one's religion; the Companions did not differ in the fundamentals • The Qurʾān is the Speech of Allāh, revealed and not created, and the origin of the Jahmiyyah's innovation
