Devices across Australia formed part of the nationwide emergency alert system test, notifying users simultaneously.

AusAlert is the federal Government’s new national warning system, and it's being tested ahead of the official launch in October. 

Australian correspondent Oliver Peterson says concerns have been raised about the technology, with experts wondering if it'll be working properly for the summer season.
