The five-part lesson series introduces students to an alternative way of thinking about the current model of economic development. The series takes on resource challenges, energy issues and product design to help students imagine different ways of doing business in a new economic framework: a circular economy.
The lesson plans developed by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation's education team will challenge students to step back and consider a new way of creating long-term economic prosperity, and discover why a whole-system approach is needed to respond to the economic, social and environmental challenges that the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) seek to address.
The five lessons are:
- Challenging common conceptions
- Exploring the circular economy
- Understanding the challenge of ‘finite’ resources
- Designing for a circular economy
- The circular economy and modern agriculture
