Fasting has been shown to reduce insulin resistance, which means your body will be more able to use the fat you already have stored for energy. Insulin resistance is a condition where your body has trouble using insulin correctly. Insulin resistance is a precursor to type 2 diabetes, which can happen when you have high levels of sugar in your blood for too long.

 

Fasting can be a great tool for changing up your routine and being mindful of your eating habits. When you're focused on not eating, it's easier to notice how often you eat and what you're choosing to eat.

 

It has been proven that while fasting you will have more energy and mental focus as your body is not using its resources to digest food as well as boosting your metabolism.
