Long ago, people created board games to entertain themselves and spend time with family and friends. Ancient Egyptians played a game called Senet over 5,000 years ago, using stones and a board with squares. In China, a game called Go was invented more than 2,500 years ago and is still played today. In the 20th century, games like Monopoly and Scrabble became popular all around the world. Board games have a special way of bringing people together, and they continue to be a favorite pastime for many families.
