Gabriel encounters the shepherds and says, “Fear not. I bring you good news.” He announces that the fear breaker, Jesus, is here. 

Good news that will cause great joy; good news that causes doesn’t mean life gets easier. Why did they say it’s good news? 

Christmas means that all fear is conquered because Christ has come.
