Father McSweeny was a devoted priest who spent his life faithfully serving the town where he was born, yet despite his kindness and dedication, the people around him could never shake the strange unease they felt in his presence. When a mysterious illness slowly wastes him away, the town mourns his passing and gathers for a solemn funeral in the hills outside town. But as the mourners make their way home after the burial, they encounter something impossible walking alone along the dark country road—a figure with Father McSweeny’s face, pale skin, and a horrifying expression that seems stripped of all humanity. What follows leaves the entire town questioning whether the beloved priest they buried was truly the man they believed him to be… or whether something far darker had always been hiding beneath the surface.
