The EFRA AGM (Annual General Meeting) is where the upcoming events and rules for radio-operated automobiles are decided by RC federations across Europe - and in this episode of the Inside EFRA Podcast, we will bring you event proposals that have been submitted for voting in the 8th Off Road Section, which includes 8th Buggy and 8th Electric Buggy!
DISCLAIMER // This is just Frank and Mat's interpretation and impressions while reading through the minutes of the meetings. It's important to read the proposals for yourself to form your own opinions!
// some clarifications from 8th Buggy Section Chairman Carlos Gomez
EC B eligibility – any winners of EC B, the top 40 of EC A and any A Finalists for past 15 years are ineligible to race in the EC B
Electric Time-out rules – originally intended to split the 10 minute technical time-out for the IC Buggy racers across the 3 finals for E Buggy, the proposal was increased to 5 minutes per E Buggy main final. This means a maximum of 15 minutes extra to the race schedule in case of technical time-outs.
How Last Chance Finals and bump ups will work – intended for drivers who have bad luck, illness, etc., to recover and compete in the Final. The winner from each final will bump up and be number 13 for the next final.
Penalty for driving Ongaroring track before race – first round of practice deleted
HV batteries – delayed ruling to evaluate safety of the current maximum voltage rule
Tyres – EC B and 40+ designated tyre will probably remain the same for 2026
