I am very excited to welcome today’s guest Billy Kalbacher to the podcast. He’s the very Billy, who Little Edie refers to in The Beales of Grey Gardens. Billy shares with us some of his personal experiences and cherished memories with both Mother (Big Edie) and Little Edie. As a boy summering in East Hampton he was used to hearing about and seeing the Cat Woman’s House. When he got to know the cat ladies in person by a crazy twist of fate, it opened his heart to these two unique women in East Hampton, and gave him the opportunity to help those in need of assistance. Decades later, after Billy raised his family in East Hampton, the long time resident continues to give back to the community he loves through the work of the Clamshell Organization. Let’s step back in time with Billy as we listen in, pet the cats and boil some corn.
