Join Katie and Liz on this week's episode of True Crime New England as they talk about one of the most infamous unsolved cases in Massachusetts history. In July of 1974, the discovery of the decomposing body of a nude woman in the Race Point Dunes of Provincetown caught the attention of not only the locals, but people all over the country. The woman had been beaten over the head, sexually assaulted, and also had some identifying features removed from her body. Despite tedious work to find her identity, including clay busts, dental consults, and public pleas, who she is remains a mystery. The theories involved with who The Lady of the Dunes is are plentiful, as well as who is responsible for her murder...and why. Anyone with any information on the Lady of the Dunes is asked to please call Detective Meredith Lobur of the Provincetown Police Department at (508) 487-1212.
