In 1922, former chorus girl Clara Phillips and her handsome husband Armour has a lovely house in West Hollywood, a car, a telephone, nice clothes…all those important status symbols. Armour tells everyone that he works in oil. It’s a lie—one of many they both tell. It all seems to be going well, except Clara hears an upsetting rumor from a neighbor that Armour is having an affair with a young widow. This can’t end well.
