***SYNOPSIS WITH SPOILERS***
Hattie (she/her) asks her friends Jamal (him/his) and Elle (they/them) what they like best about Halloween and their answer is that they love getting to be something other than what they are. Knowing a little something about being something or someone different, Hattie invites her friends over to her Grandma McCutchin’s house to sample her magical cookies made of pumpkin and… “spice.” Grannie’s cookies allow the kids to transform into animals for 20 minutes and romp and play in new bodies. The kids may have just discovered the best Halloween costumes ever.
