Episode 12…the conclusion of our lengthy interview with the oft-referred to (in this podcast at least) Trevor William Church, the brainchild behind Beastmaker, Haunt, and a bunch of other very cool metal projects.

Kicking off with the Merch Table, Jeff shows off a limited Earthless live record, Trevor shows us a MIJ BC Rich that he bought from Russia. Hmmmm. Long story short, he doesn't like it...because he can't "go" on it...needs a painted neck...so he can be gnarly. And them....Trevor shows off 2 of his dad's basses, including the 1957 P-bass his dad used to record Montrose, Van Morrison, and all the Sammy Hagar records. It's beat to shit, but the scars are earned. Then he shows off an early 80s Grover Jackson Electric Church custom Charvel that was made for his dad. Also live bathroom breaks because JD has a small bladder. Also his dad was not a fan of Beastmaker's "Satan shit". He talks about his love of Japanese pedals from the 80s...his board is mostly Orion pedals, but he has 100+ Japanese pedals from the 80s in a display case in his house. We learn about Trevor's distaste for cockroaches, and how Decibel magazine has supported him. We wrap up with some California heavy talk,  and Trevor gushes about his buddy Francis Anger Roberts and his many projects (Old Man Wizard, King Gorm, etc.).

We wrap up with Haunt's take on the classic St. Vitus' Dance off of Black Sabbath Volume 4...part of our ongoing dive into the Magnetic Eye Records Black Sabbath Redux and Best Of cover records. Trevor decided to flip this song on it's head and turn it into a NWOTHM banger with endless guitar solos. Of course he did.
