Read along to practice your English and to learn the English phrases TO DROP EVERYTHING and EVERYTHING COMES TO THOSE WHO WAIT

In this English lesson, I wanted to help you learn the English phrase to drop everything. When you say to someone that you're going to drop everything, it means you're going to stop what you're doing, so that you can go and do something else. If my mom called me, and said I'm not feeling well today, can you pick me up, and take me in to have a COVID test? I would drop everything. If I was working at home, if I was making supper, whatever I was doing, I would turn the oven off. I would jump in my car. I would drop everything. I would drive over there, pick her up, and take her in to get a test, or just take her to the doctor. Luckily that's never happened. I've never had to drop everything, because my mom was sick. But I think you can see the point. If you drop everything, it means you stop doing what you're doing to go and do something else.

The other phrase I wanted to teach you today is actually an old English saying. And it's the saying everything comes to those who wait. So this is a saying about patience. It basically means that if you wait long enough, eventually you will get what you want. Sometimes you must feel this way when you're learning English, you must think how long is it going to be before I can think in English? Well, everything comes to those who wait. So if you just work hard, do what you need to do, eventually you'll be able to think in English, and have amazing English conversations. So to review, when you drop everything, it means you quit what you're doing immediately to go and do something else. By the way, if you are cooking, and you need to drop everything, make sure you turn the stove or the oven off before you leave to go do something else. And the phrase everything comes to those who wait simply means that if you are patient, you will eventually get what you want. If you work hard, then eventually you will get it. Sorry, I'm not sure if you can hear the dog barking, it's a little distracting for me, but I doubt you can hear it.Anyways, let's look at a comment from a previous video. This is from Biruk. Teacher Bob, is it possible to be an English teacher on YouTube when I become fluent? And my response is for sure, anything is possible. So thanks for that comment, Biruk. I do think that's possible. In fact, some people have done that. Some people have actually learned a language so well that they eventually teach it. I have to be careful as I walk here. What I was gonna mention is this. Even if you don't become a YouTuber with your English skills, even if you just learn English well enough to make videos of yourself speaking English, it's a great thing. I'm walking through the woods here, I'm gonna trip. It's a great thing to do to practice your English. They say that one of the best ways to really know if you know something is to try and teach it. So even if you don't become a YouTuber, I would certainly recommend to all of you that you try to teach an English lesson, and record yourself on video, just to see how it goes. You might be surprised how well it works, and how much it helps you remember, because you have to do a lot of preparation in order to teach something.
