We had the pleasure of being joined by former amateur world #1 and 5 time European (DP World) Tour champion Michael Hoey.

We talked about growing up playing golf on the links to winning the British Amateur in 2001, the same year he represented the GB&I Walker Cup Team, which led to appearances in both The Open and The Masters before turning professional.

So with such a successful amateur pedigree, we discussed the transition into the professional game, which didn't see a first professional victory until 3 years later and didn't get his first European Tour win until 7 years after turning professional in 2009. We also discussed how that transition has changed over the years and get into more detail about the wins, in particular Michaels big win at the Dunhill in 2011 which was in a field full of Ryder Cup legends, Major Champions and a whole host of the best players in the world.

Michael has now decided to hang up the clubs from tour golf and focus his career in his new role on the DP World Tour working as a referee and we have a good chat about the rules of golf, plus much more.

A fantastic career and it was great to sit back and listen, as always we hope you enjoy!!
