Are you ready for Thanksgiving? I know I am, I'll be visiting friends for a week, going on some ghost tours, probably eating too much, seeing new sights, drinking, just enjoying time with friends during this crazy time of COVID. Well how about this week we dive into an episode of Bones, what's better than crime and turkey? This episode of Bones originally aired November 19th of 2015, 5 years ago and it's available to watch on Hulu and on Amazon Prime.
Thanksgiving Themed Cocktails (delish.com) I chose 3 to share, but more are available:
Thanksgiving Jungle Juice
2 bottles red wine
4 c. ginger ale
3 c. cranberry juice
2/3 c. Fireball
2/3 c. whiskey
2 c. frozen cranberries
1 orange, sliced into rounds
1 apple, cut into thin slices
Combine all ingredients in a punch bowl, stir together and serve.
Pecan Pie Martini
3 tbsp. caramel, microwaved until pourable
1/4 c. toasted chopped pecans
Cool Whip, for garnish
3 whole pecans, for garnish
Sprinkle of cinnamon, for garnish
6 oz. rumchata
6 oz. creme de cocoa
3 oz. bourbon
Ice
Place caramel and toasted chopped pecans on separate small shallow plates. Dip the rim of each glass first into caramel and then into chopped pecans to coat.
Combine rumchata, creme de cocoa, and bourbon in a large cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake until cold, 30 seconds. Pour into martini glasses and top with a dollop of whipped cream, a whole pecan, and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Leftover Pecan Pie Bourbon Shake
3 scoops vanilla ice cream
1/2 c. milk
2 oz. bourbon
1/2 c. chopped pecan pie
In a blender, combine vanilla ice cream, milk, bourbon, and chopped pecan pie.
Blend until desired consistency. (Add more ice cream if mixture is too thin, more milk if it’s too thick.)
Pour into glass and garnish with crumbled pecan pie.
