I had the honor of speaking with Senator Pat Spearman who is the first openly gay black woman to be elected to the senate of Nevada. We had a very open and candid conversation about her personal experiences in life, which made her resilient and passionate about the variety of activism she supports - primarily equality for women, LGBTQA+ and African Americans.
