Sure, we've all heard of ghosts. They are the unexplained forces that we claim move our belongings, speak when no one is there, and manifest as shadows in order to run throughout the house. Some spirits are accepting of the fortunate that still reside on earth as others tend to be mischievous and teasing. Science can't fully explain what ghosts are. That is..at least not yet. While most stories of our dearly departed share commonalities, every now and again one tale carries with it events that set it apart from the others. One of these surprising ghastly stories is The Greenbrier Ghost where a deceased woman reappears to her mother from beyond the grave to present evidence for the explanation on how her soul had truly left the world, murdered. With some new, albeit spiritual, information the mother was able to have her daughter's murderer put on trial and ultimately sent to prison, which is where the killer would live until their death just a few, short years later.
